Aon Is Looking For A Sr. Underwriter

We currently have an exciting hybrid career opportunity for an Sr. Underwriter in our Ft. Wayne, IN office.  This position will support Aon’s K&K Insurance group

What the day will look like:

  • Underwrites Multi-line accounts accordance with agreed upon underwriting guidelines, regulatory compliance and carrier administration standards requirements (standard / non-standard market)
  • Deliver high quality /accuracy of the product for client’s new and or existing accounts
  • Use sound judgment and independent thinking to achieve the maximum result within authority and state guidelines
  • Identify premium growth opportunities with current book by cross sell offering other coverage
  • Collect/monitor competitive intelligence on all key competitors within assigned areas; anticipate client’s needs by contributing to research and development of products /endorsements
  • Works with Underwriting Staff to organize and prepare rating information in carrier system(s) and provide advice on best practices for selling the products to clients.
  • Work within the E&S market
  • Works independently with moderate guidance and supervision
  • Actively seeks out new and challenging projects
  • Performs other duties as required

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • 6 + years working and underwriting P&C Commercial package insurance.
  • Multi-line commercial lines product knowledge.
  • Experience in the E&S markets, understanding state regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary to communicate in a professional manner with clients and the marketplace
  • Analytical skills – problem solving
  • Ability to work in fast pace environment
  • P&C License required

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $72,000 to $80,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.  The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
