Environmental Scientist/Engineer Position

Rad Pros is looking for a degreed Environmental Scientist/Engineer to support our consulting and field services operations. The company currently is headquartered in the Inverness/Denver Tech Center area with the anticipated move in Q2 to offices near E-470 and Quincy. In-office and in-field work are anticipated, however, candidates in northern and northeastern Colorado may not need to routinely work from our headquarters location. The successful individual(s) in this role will be responsible for performing ECMC compliance work and associated documentation related to remediation work plans including site assessments and sampling for oil and gas producers in the Denver-Julesburg Basin. Work activities will likely expand into other industries as well including mining, rare earths, and water treatment.
The ideal person for this position will be highly focused and productive, able to work independently, and have proven verbal and written skills. An eye for detail and prolific typing/computer skills are essential to your success along with a commitment to regulatory compliance and best practices. Expertise as a data analyst and a solid understanding of ECMC rules along with experience with Forms 27 and 19 is highly preferred, though entry level positions may be available.  An interest in radioactive and hazardous waste materials is a plus along with a solid understanding of RCRA rules and regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with our functional area leaders across both our consulting and field services lines of business to help us deliver outstanding results. We will consider both full- and part-time candidates for this role, if you are the right person for the job. The specific role and title will be dependent on your experience and qualifications. Multiple positions may be available for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Regulatory & License Compliance – must have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of regulatory and license compliance, with appropriate training, expertise and experience in either health and safety, environmental or waste compliance, or – preferably – radioactive materials regulations and radioactive materials license compliance.
  • Report Writing – must have excellent report writing skills and be proficient with Word or Google Docs.  Proficiency in Excel and ability to read and summarize lab results are essential.  Create reports for the customer and internal users that can provide clarity trends as well as areas for improvement.
  • Manage Data – Ability to review, retain/file, and report all findings and summarize large sets of data is a big plus.  Familiarity with standard deviations (confidence intervals), MCLs, LDLs, etc. isa plus. Support any data warehousing requirements, identifying and revising reporting requirements as well as initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
  • Client, Lab, and Regulator Interface – Possesses sufficient people and organizational skills to interface with clients in a positive and constructive manner to assist them in improving their regulatory compliance programs, as well as ability to work cooperatively with regulators, waste facilities, laboratories, and scientists.  Excellent communication, integration, and follow-up between parties is essential.
  • Manage Multiple Priorities – Ability to juggle more than one project, integrating with and holding team members accountable for excellence and timeliness in meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Templates – Ability to create template reports that can expedite quality deliverables for future clients.
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Sciences, Health Physics, Environmental Sciences or a related field
  • Experience with the ECMC/COGCC and their regulations is highly preferred. Experience with Forms 27 and 19 is a big plus.
  • 1-10 years of experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand client needs and communicate well with others
  • Absolutely exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in oil & gas, water treatment, laboratories, radiochemistry, waste management or brokering is a plus
  • Excellent typing and data management skills
