Job Summary:

The Politics Department at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time, non-continuing faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences specializing in American political institutions, with a preferred focus on law and courts. Appointment to this position will be for a term of one year, beginning fall 2025, and will carry the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will teach a total of five courses, including constitutional law courses on civil liberties and the separation of powers, as well as other courses on American political institutions.

Required qualifications:

Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph.D. degree (in hand or expected by the first semester of academic year 2025-26). Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching. Successful teaching experience at the college level is desirable. Compensation:

Within the range established for this position, salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a competitive benefits package.
