Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Lehi, Utah | Hybrid (3 in-office / 2 remote)

About the Role

Jolt is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to launch and own our mobile testing and automation initiative from the ground up. This isn't an “order taker” role—it's an opportunity to take full ownership of a critical function, shape the strategy, and be the go-to expert in your domain.

You'll collaborate across QA, product, and engineering to define what gets tested, how it gets tested, and build the automation infrastructure needed to make that vision real. We've laid the foundation—now we're ready for someone to run with it.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement end-to-end mobile automation testing strategies.

• Integrate automation testing into our CI/CD pipelines to speed up deployments.

• Partner with Product, QA, and Development to identify test cases and use cases.

• Set clear milestones and drive implementation from day one.

• Build scalable testing processes as the company grows.

• Define what mobile test coverage looks like and fully own that function.

✅ What You Bring

• 5–7+ years of professional experience in software engineering or test automation.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • React Native or React Web (reading and debugging)

  • Android/iOS mobile development

  • Automation testing frameworks (Maestro, Appium, Detox, Selenium)

  • Shell scripting

• Experience working in CI/CD environments.

• Ability to advocate for quality—even when it challenges others.

• Self-starter who thrives on autonomy and accountability.

• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.

Nice to Haves

• Experience testing applications that combine software and hardware.

• Exposure to side projects or open-source mobile apps.

• Familiarity with automation testing tools across platforms.

• Experience with companies that build for connected devices.

• BS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
