Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified and Orton-Gillingham Certified Tutor to provide specialized literacy instruction to students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties. The ideal candidate will have expertise in structured literacy interventions and a strong understanding of multisensory teaching methods.
Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized, structured literacy instruction using the Orton-Gillingham approach.
• Adapt and implement lesson plans tailored to each student's needs, learning pace, and abilities.
• Utilize multisensory strategies to enhance phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, and comprehension.
• Track and document student progress through session notes and progress reports.
• Communicate effectively with parents, school representatives, and Einstein Tutoring's management team.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions and adhere to Einstein Tutoring's policies and procedures.
• Follow each student's IEP (if applicable) and collaborate with school staff when necessary.
• Ensure timely attendance and proper documentation of all tutoring sessions.
Qualifications:
• Must be Orton-Gillingham Certified (Associate Level or Higher).
• Must be located in Massachusetts.
• Must be available during school hours (Monday-Friday).
• Experience working with students with dyslexia, reading difficulties, and special education needs is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of phonics-based and structured literacy interventions.
• Ability to create engaging, multisensory lesson plans tailored to individual students.
• Must be reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
• Must have access to a computer with a stable internet connection for virtual sessions (if applicable).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in school districts or special education settings.
• Knowledge of additional evidence-based reading programs (e.g., Wilson Reading, Lindamood-Bell, Barton).
• Experience in progress monitoring and report writing.
