- Worksite Location: Lake Elmo, MN | Hybrid
- Compensation: $28-30/hour
What you’ll do as the Fraud Investigator: - Detect, prevent, and mitigate suspicious and fraudulent activity across multiple payment channels, including internal and external notifications.
- Review fraud alerts and perform triage on suspected fraud, covering scenarios such as check fraud, deposit fraud, bill payment alerts, Zelle alerts, Reg CC hold referrals, suspicious caller referrals, and online account takeovers.
- Analyze activity to confirm fraud, determine appropriate courses of action, and take timely steps to mitigate financial and reputational risk.
- Ensure all processes comply with applicable regulations, including UCC 3 & 4, Reg CC, Reg E, MasterCard & Visa rules, NACHA rules, FinCEN regulations, and BSA/AML programs.
- Communicate complex fraud cases effectively across multiple business lines and organizational levels.
- Prepare accurate and concise case documentation, including electronic and documentary evidence, in accordance with judicial evidence standards.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with peers, cross-functional teams, and internal/external customers while delivering exceptional, customer-focused service.
What you’ll bring to the Fraud Investigator role: - Minimum of a high school diploma or GED with 3+ years of relevant fraud investigation experience.
- Strong knowledge of deposit account ownership, financial privacy requirements, and regulatory compliance related to fraud prevention.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze suspicious activity, solve problems independently, and know when to escalate cases.
- Experience in SAR (Suspicious Activity Report) writing.
- Self-directed work style with excellent investigative, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present findings and negotiate effectively.
