Job Description

Job Title: Dump Truck Driver - Hampton Roads

Major Role and Purpose :

  • Drives Dump Trucks for transporting construction materials to job and plant locations

Description of Duties :

  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
  • Safety maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Pull or push levers to dump materials
  • Move hand and foot controls to move truck forward and backward to aid in the placement of material
  • May perform other related duties, such as lifting & moving transported material
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies in accordance with CDL pre-trip guidelines
  • Use hand tools when necessary
  • Oil, lubricate, and/or general maintenance ofequipment may be required
  • Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements and adhere to same
  • Maintain daily log
  • Understanding verbal & written directions, GPS
  • Able to communicate with management & foreman on job sites
  • Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned

Education:

  • High School Diploma / GED

Work Experience/Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid CDL, Class B with air brake endorsement
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience driving commercial vehicles preferred
  • Vision must be acceptable to both day and night driving
  • Ability to do basic math

Physical Demands:

  • Job requires the following motions: climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, vibrating, and reaching
  • Must be able to climb up and down a ladder
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather
  • Overtime work is required
  • Physical strength must be enough to climb in and out of truck throughout the workday, carry chutes, and carry out tasks that may be assigned to you
