Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Dock and Mailroom Specialist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of mailroom and dock operations to ensure timely, secure, and accurate handling of mail, packages, and shipments. This role supports organizational efficiency through coordination, communication, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.

  • Receive, sort, distribute, and prepare incoming and outgoing mail and packages, including interoffice, USPS, and courier shipments.
  • Operate and maintain dock area functions, including the safe loading and unloading of deliveries, shipment inspections, and coordination with carriers and vendors.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials and ensure proper handling of confidential and time-sensitive items.
  • Track inventory of mailroom and dock supplies, reorder materials as needed, and maintain organized storage and supply areas.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (if applicable) while following safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, company policies, and workplace safety standards across both dock and mailroom operations.
  • Communicate with internal departments to coordinate timely distribution and pickup, and resolve any issues related to mail or deliveries.
  • Keep the mailroom and dock areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to support a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Provide professional customer service to internal staff and external delivery personnel, ensuring all interactions reflect company standards.
