Job Description

To aerate, feed loads, and flip loads for a sheet feed Die Cutter. Assist with the setup and operation of the Die Cutter to achieve the maximum uptime and the highest possible quality of product. * The Feeder will be responsible for aerating and feeding printed loads for their Die Cutter. Once the load is cut, the Feeder is responsible for flipping loads and placing them in the designated drop zone. * All Powered Industrial Truck inspections must be complete at the start of every shift. * Work with the Operator as a team to achieve the highest output possible from the Die Cutter. This will include assisting the Operator on make readies and throughout the shift. * When the Operator goes on break, the Feeder will cover the Operators responsibilities. During this time the Feeder is not allowed to aerate or flip loads. * The Feeder is expected to learn every aspect of the Die Cutter in order to keep the Die Cutter running when the Operator is not present (on break). * Share the responsibility of maintaining the cleanliness of the Die Cutter and the area around the machine including trash cans, waste bins, waste loads, and aerator pits. * The Feeder will help perform Preventive Maintenance on the Die Cutter in order to keep the machine in good operating condition. * Perform various other tasks as assigned. Where possible, detail any quantitative performance measures with that outcome.) * Follow all safety rules and procedures and actively participate in the plant safety process to support the goal of zero injuries * Meet the highest level of equipment production uptime * Accurately input production data into the BPCS system * Actively participate in the Preventative Maintenance programs * Ensure that the board is pile turned and aerated in a timely manner, as to not stop the cutter (Identify budget, revenue responsibilities and number and type of employees managed by this job.) * N/A (Detail required technical/functional knowledge areas, required certifications and education and all requisite skills needed to satisfactorily perform this job.) * GED/High School diploma required * Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience material hander experience preferred * Demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding standards for safety, quality and productivity * Ability to effectively communicate business issues with leadership, maintenance and press crews * Able to coordinate make-ready materials preparation and assist in executing safe efficient make-readies * Ability to distinguish color and depth perception * Ability to operate advanced computer controls and quality systems * Able to perform the essential functions of the job * Able to work in a fast-paced environment * Must be able to flip 85 lbs. plastic pallets off the die cut loads from a maximum height of 55". * Must be able to support up to 90 lbs. at the waist when exchanging the Bottom Pin Frames. (Detail any unusual environmental conditions, special protective gear/clothing that must be worn, physical demands, expected travel and working hours requirements.) * Must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection and other safety gear as required * Continuous standing and walking * Occasional kneeling, crouching, squatting and bending * Frequent lifting, climbing and grasping * Continuous use of vision to distinguish depth perception and verify print accuracy * Ability to work any shift (night or day) * Ability to work in an uncontrolled temperature environment (hot or cold) Smurfit Westrock (NYSE:SW) is a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging solutions.
