ALCOSAN is committed to providing wastewater treatment services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. After 60 years of continued design, construction and operations of the sewer system and treatment plant, we now have 400 plus employees serving residential, commercial and industrial customers in 83 communities throughout Allegheny County.
Position Summary The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to either a director or manager.
Job Duties - Performs general office duties which include distributing incoming and preparing outgoing mail, word processing, filing, ordering supplies, answering phone(s), coordinating calendars / setting up meetings, and taking and transcribing meeting notes.
- Performs Data Management including scanning, emailing, and electronic filing of documents. This includes creating and maintaining file system for the retention of documents.
- Formats, prepares, organizes, and preserves data / correspondence / reports.
- Schedules meetings, updates Director’s calendar, alerts Security with visitor information. Creates and/or copies handouts as requested.
- Provides immediate assistance to the Executive Director as needed.

- Office equipment including copy machine, scanner, etc.

- Perform Administrative Activities — Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Update and Use Relevant Knowledge — Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
Minimum Education Level Required Associates’ Degree in Secretarial Science or a related field.
Minimum Experience Required One (1) year Administrative experience in a professional environment.
